People who have not visited an Arab country are sure to wonder how it is like over there. Even though there seems to be always talks of war due to religious fanatics, the Arab businesses, and especially the Arab restaurants that we have here in the West have surely exhibited a different side of the Muslim world. It does not matter if you have never tried Arab food before, you will be easily lured to get in by the pictures and tasters presented at the exhibition stand.

I am a big fan of Arab food, especially the different kind of sweet pastries they have. And this has always been the reason for me to travel to some of the famous Arab destinations. Most of the Arab countries have been ruled by dictators and kings. This has led to the recent turmoil in the Arab world. They call it the Arab Spring, where the common man is seeking a democratic country. A lot of blood has been shed; one of the most notorious was the killing of Gadaffi, the tyrant of Libya, who had been ruling for more than 40 years.

It is going to take a lot of time before the Arab world is going to be peaceful again. Till then it is always good to check with a travel advisor before you decide to travel into any of the countries here. It’s sad that such a great and ancient culture is getting overshadowed by a bunch of extremists. Morroco and Turkey are two of the most non violent places in the Arab world. You can surely visit them at any time. The ancient buildings in Turkey are certainly worth the effort. And if you go to Turkey and do not taste the world famous Baklava, then it would surely be a shame. It is my favorite Turkish sweet pastry.

US reality star beauty and global socialite Kim Kardashian recently visited the wonderful United Arab Emirates cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi with her mother Kris Jenner whilst on a trip to the Middle Eastern land to open a milkshake franchise. On her return Kim Kardashian hailed the trip as ’unforgettable’ adding that she can not wait to return to the Emirate region with her plethora of siblings in tow.

It is not surprising that the popular star who is of Persian descent had such a fantastic time whilst visiting the UAE, she experienced Abu Dhabi (pictured below) which is the capital and largest city of the United Arab Emirates and ‘shopping capital of the middle east'Dubai, both of which are outstanding places to visit within the country.

Kim Kardashian aand her mother Kris Jenner primarily flew to the area to launch the first overseas store of ’Millions of Milkshakes'and made an official appearance at a shopping mall in Dubai for her thousands of UAE admirers. The 30 year old is one of the stars of hit reality show ’Keeping up with the Kardashians'in which she appears alongside her family members, including sisters Khole and Kourtney Kardashian. Kim stated that she was also hoping to look for future business opportunities for herself in the country as well as considering real estate potential during her trip with her mother Kris.

But it wasn’t all business for the reality star, there was time for fun too, and I’m not talking chess sets and pool side reading, during their time in the UAE Kim and Kris were pictured riding camels in six inch heels! Sinking in to the sand as they attempted to board the mammal, onlookers watched their antics in bemusement, but after all that’s why we all love keeping up with the Kardashians.

The Sinai desert is an archetypal part of Arabia. It contains sand dunes that stretch as far as you can see, punctuated by barren rocks, and a glorious coastline of beaches and harbours along the Red Sea.

For centuries it was occupied only by the traditional Arab nomads, the Bedouin. These people would own camels, goats or sheep, as well as precious horses, and would move their herds from one small patch of fertile land to another, or from one oasis to another. They might have semi-permanent dwellings, especially along the coastal strip where fishing would add variety to their diet, but for the most part Bedouins used to be true nomads.

Because of their mobile lifestyle, they carried as little as possible. Their possessions were few. And partly for that reason, a Bedouin family would carry their wealth in the form of jewellery. (Of course, camels are another indication of wealth, but they are not quite as desirable to a non-Bedouin!)

Beautiful, intricately made bracelets, necklaces, earrings and finger rings are worn by all members of the family. Women’s pieces often feature the lovely emblem of the hand of Fatima, an upheld, open hand, while both sexes would wear jewellery incorporating an eye that wards off evil.

Nowadays the Red Sea strip of the Sinai desert has been developed into a major international holiday destination, with plenty of sun guaranteed and water sports of all sorts available right outside the hotel. Tiny seasonal fishing villages such as Dahab have been concreted over, and the Bedouin huts have been displaced. But at least these resorts do offer all their comparatively wealthy visitors the chance to buy traditional Bedouin arts and crafts, including their uniquely styled jewellery.

If you can’t make the trip to the Sinai yourself, don’t panic. Nowadays you can always buy Bedouin jewellery online.

My friend Jane recently came into an unexpected and potentially unpleasant windfall. She was in a clothes shop when one of the walls of the building collapsed and fell into the shop, showering bricks and other gunk on top of her.

Luckily she wasn’t seriously injured. She was taken to hospital and was kept overnight in case of a head injury and concussion, but was released the next day with just several bumps and bruises. However, she consulted Personal Injury lawyers and realised that she could expect a bumper payout from the shop for the hurt and hassle she received.

Eventually, after a lot of legal arguing with the shop trying to weasel out of its liability to Jane, she was given a lovely, big lump sum to settle her claim for personal injury.

What did she do with the money? Well, she did one of the nicest things that has ever happened to me. Jane took me and two other of her closest friends on an all expenses paid holiday to Dubai.

At this particular stage in life and worldwide recession, I could never have afforded such a trip myself, so I was really delighted with Jane’s gesture.

We had such a great time. We saw all the amazing man-made islands in the Arabian or Persian Gulf, shaped like palms or various countries of the world. We shopped in the incredible malls built especially for the tourist trade, and we had wonderful hot hours sunbathing on the superb beaches that this little Arab state has to offer.

If you suddenly find yourself with an unexpected windfall, well, take my advice. Blow some of it on a holiday in Dubai for you and your closest loved ones. It is an Arabian night to remember

One of the largest ski destinations in the world is Dubai. It is a man made wonder. Tourists all over the world gather here just to watch this wonderful place. It is the best place to visit for all the skiing and snowboarding lovers. Ski Dubai has five different sections so that visitors can enjoy according to their skills. It is the world’s largest indoor skiing. Those that are new and are learners of skiers and snowboarding can use the beginner slope. The other slopes in the ski Dubai are steep and dangerous for learners. Only experienced and hard challengers can use it to their best.

I was on a vacation and went to ski Dubai that’s where I also applied for GP Locum Jobs online. Honestly I was tired of my current job and after getting into the comfort of Dubai, I simply didn’t want to get back to my old job. Well talking about ski Dubai since it was my first time snowboarding I was a bit nervous and tensed. But ski Dubai eases out that problem. There are highly trained professionals who are always available to help you. The price is affordable. Private lessons are also taught to the beginners.

If you don’t like the thrilling experience then there is also a beautiful snow park available for you. Excellent spot to escape from the heat of Dubai deserts. It’s a snow park where you can enjoy with your family and friends. It looks awesome when the entire place lights up. Christmas feel is guaranteed at the snow park. It is very important to carry your hats and gloves. Sipping a hot chocolate and relaxing at ski Dubai is an unbelievable experience. Ski Dubai is truly a man made wonder.

It’s not always easy to get to some parts of the Arab world and the Middle East from Europe. And don’t even think about it if you have an Isareli stamp in your passport! Of course, with the current political upheaval in Libya, all flights to Tripoli have been cancelled for weeks, with many flights into Bahrain, Syria and even seemingly unaffected regions like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates being either cancelled or scaled back.
OK, so tourists probably aren’t queuing up to visit Arab countries right now, but what about those of us who have families out there and want to visit? My Grandma’s 80th birthday celebration is coming up soon in Jordan, and I’m having some real problems tracking down suitable flights, even though Jordan has always been one of the most stable countries in the whole region. The lack of direct London flights is leading me to consider some rather crazy travel options; such as flying into Turkey on a regular tourist flight, and then hitch hiking through Syria until I hit the Jordanian border, where my Uncle has already offered to come and pick me up. Either that, or fly into Egypt and sneak across a corner of Saudi Arabia to get to Jordan; but that whole border area near Israel is usually a nightmare to deal with. A minefield of bureaucracy and scary looking Israeli soldiers with very big guns!
So, it looks like hitching through Syria is, bizarrely, my best option. My Grandma is already getting worried about me travelling that route, but I reckon as long as I avoid the cities I should be fine. It’s not a journey I would recommend to a white friend, but as an Arab, who can speak the language and mix with the locals, I can’t see any problems.

You’d have to have been living under a rock for the last few months to have missed out on the news reports from Tunisia, Egypt and now Libya about anti-government protests and regime change. As an exiled Arab, it’s been refreshing to see my brothers and sisters taking control of their own destiny, even if things don’t seem to be going as smoothly so far in Libya…

What has been most interesting to me is how modern technology, mobile phones and even social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook have played an important part in starting and supporting these popular actions. It makes a mockery of the west’s perception of us as a backwards community, still trapped in medieval times, wandering round the deserts on the back of a camel and selling our women into marriage. We even have some pretty decent deals on roaming plans, you know; well, you have to when so many of our businessmen have to travel abroad to deal with US and European oil companies!

Of course, it is the oil that most people in the west are most concerned about, and the one thing that I fear most of all is that escalating conflict in Libya will turn into another Iraq. No one, not Arabs or the western nations who have taken steps to protect the civilian population, wants that to happen. With the presence of oil, however, it might be difficult to persuade the US and the UK to stay out. Perhaps some of their subjects should start a Twitter campaign or take to the streets? It seemed to work well in Egypt and Tunisia!

I went to Scotland for my stag do. It was a very crowded night in Scotland, there was some sort of festival going on and not a lot of public transport was working. All the pubs were open which was a good thing as I think beer is a fundamental part of a good stag night or in fact any night out with “the boys”.

We started off ordinarily enough. We consumed vast amounts of the local whiskies and some of the more familiar ales from south of the border. There was a snooker table so we played a few games of that before trying our luck on one of those touch screen quiz machines in the corner of the bar. We won about four pounds from a fifty pence stake – this, we thought, was probably because the machine was on easy mode for the Scots. We probably should have said that a bit quieter because everybody glared at us until we left.

On exiting the pub into the drizzle, we stumbled upon a man who had clearly been drinking all day. He was probably about a quarter whisky and continued to drink it from a hip flask he kept in his pocket. In his hands he carried a complex looking contraption with a lasso type device on one and the working parts of a blunderbuss. The stag do took a turn for the better when he invited us all into his car for a lift to the haggis fields.

Many people head to Greece or Turkey for the wonderful beaches, the excellent history that you can explore in ancient capitals, or for the exceptional food. But I recommend something a little different. Rather than choosing if you’ll visit Greece or Turkey, Istanbul or Athens, I recommend you do both.
Taking a sailing holiday on a tall ship or small yacht will allow you to check out the very best that the Greek and Turkish coastlines have to offer, and you’ll be able to really enjoy yourself and de-stress after the day-to-day mindless tasks in which you compare caravan insurance, fix the boiler, look after the kids and much more. Quite simply, there’s nothing quite like sailing. It’ll be hot, that’s for the sure, if you go in the spring, summer, or autumn months, but on the boat you’ll almost always have the benefit of a breeze, and anytime that you want you can jump off the boat and find yourself immediately cooled off, energized and ready to climb the mast, fix a sail, or spend hours fishing for dinner.
Perhaps it’s just how independent you can be while sailing that causes the activity to be so entertaining. It’s up to you where you dock the boat, and you can visit sandy and perfect beaches where you won’t have to wrestle with hordes of other people just to get somewhere to lay your towel. No, when you’re sailing it’s entirely up to you if you want to leave the harbour, quay, and village life behind. You don’t need to see or talk to another person for your whole trip if you don’t want to. It’s especially good to charter an old tall ship with a big group of friends. You can sleep on the deck, or below if you want. And you can jump off of the high masts and feel all your troubles fall away.

According to the U.N. this week, travel to the Middle East was up by as much as 20% last year. Much of this traffic came from the States, which is somewhat of a surprise given the controversy in airports as of late.

Like any professional body, flight attendants should have the right to form a union in order to represent their interest in a job that can require veyr long hours, and gruelling conditions. Ensuring that the interests of flight attendants is heard is a very important and fair way of maintain the conditions of flight attendants.
Some people may argue that flight attendants should not be given the right to unionize. They would argue that this would only increase the cost of flights that are already expensive due to the liklihood that the flight attendants would elevate their protests from merely expressing discontent all the way up to staging strikes would which have the potential to ground aircrafts and cause great delay to air-travellers seeking to get from one place to another. After all, why should someone who has earnt money investing with Galvan have to suffer just because a flight attendants wants an extra few hours in work or rest each week?
Of course, the reality is much more complex that that. Flight attendants endure great competition in order to get their jobs. They are therefore expected to endure low conditions as there will always be someone else who could endure the condition if they aren’t prepared. Unionized flight attendants and cabin crews will mean a happy cabin crew which is good news for all flyers. Most importantly though, it’s within flight attendants rights to form a union to protect their interest from the big corporations that they work for. Those corporations have clearly not been fair enough to the cabin crews, and they should be punished by unionization of their essential workers. No-one wants strikes, but cabin crews have the right to good working conditions just like anyone, so they should have the right to form a union if they want.
